You stay in a two-story guest house of approx. 105 m². The ground floor has a Japanese-style bedroom laid with futon, along with the spa and baths; upstairs are a bedroom and a living room. There is a toilet on each floor, and the upper floor also has a kitchenette and a study. From the windows, Ohara's view changes with the seasons — a sea of morning cloud, fresh spring green, autumn leaves.
The spa area on the ground floor of the guest house has an open-air bath in Shigaraki-ware tubs, an indoor hinoki bath, a dry sauna, a thermarium, and an experience shower with a choice of two water flows. It is yours to use at any hour of your stay.
The thatched main house, approx. 140 m², is said to be 250 years old. At its center is a large hall that still has its irori hearth and kamado stove, along with a tokonoma alcove and an engawa veranda.
A Japanese garden of approx. 127 m², and the sukiya-style tea house “Joshun” — four-and-a-half mats plus daime. From the earthen walls and fittings to the stepping stones, everything was made by craftsmen who specialize in sukiya architecture.
